Marcus Tavernier is a dynamic English winger / midfielder who currently stars for AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League. Since arriving from Middlesbrough, he’s become a key attacking threat and a fan favourite at the Vitality Stadium.
From his early days in the youth ranks (he started at Newcastle United and later joined Middlesbrough’s academy), Tavernier made his senior breakthrough at Middlesbrough, featuring in over 130 league games and contributing a steady stream of goals and flair. During the 2017–18 season, he also had a productive loan spell at Milton Keynes Dons.
In 2022, he sealed a move to Bournemouth, where he has since become a fixture in the Premier League side. Known for his work rate, creativity, dribbling and ability to play across multiple attacking roles, he’s added goals and assists as Bournemouth have consolidated their place in the top flight. He recently committed his future to the club by signing a contract extension.
On the international stage, Tavernier has represented England at youth levels, including the U19s and U20s, appearing in tournaments like the UEFA U19 Championship and the Toulon Tournament.
