Early Years and the Comedy Clubs
Seinfeld was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Massapequa on Long Island. After graduating from Queens College in 1976 with a degree in communications and theatre, he began working the New York club circuit.
Sharp, clean and obsessed with the details of everyday life, his act made him a regular on late-night television in the 1980s.

Seinfeld: The Show About Nothing
With Larry David he co-created Seinfeld, which ran on NBC from 1989 to 1998 across nine seasons and 180 episodes. Jerry played a version of himself, alongside Jason Alexander as George, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Elaine and Michael Richards as Kramer.

Back to Stand-Up
After the sitcom ended, he went straight back to the road, filming the HBO special I'm Telling You for the Last Time in 1998. He later co-wrote and voiced Bee Movie (2007) and followed it with Jerry Before Seinfeld (2017) and 23 Hours to Kill (2020) on Netflix. His books SeinLanguage (1993) and Is This Anything? (2020) collected decades of his material.

Comedians in Cars and Unfrosted
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee ran from 2012 to 2019 across 11 seasons, pairing Seinfeld with fellow comics and classic cars. In 2024 he made his directing debut with Unfrosted, a Netflix comedy about the invention of the Pop-Tart, in which he also starred as Bob Cabana.
Seasons 1 to 9 of Comedians in Cars streamed on Crackle before the show moved to Netflix for its final two seasons. Through it all, he has kept returning to the place he started - a stage, a microphone and a theatre full of people.
