Aaron Donald Los Angeles Rams Men’s Hoodie – Number 99 Defensive Football Hero Merchandise
Celebrate the strength, speed and championship legacy of Aaron Donald with this Los Angeles Rams men’s hoodie from Players Couture. Designed for Rams supporters, defensive football fanatics and admirers of one of the most dominant athletes of his generation, the hoodie provides a distinctive way to represent the legendary number 99.
A colourful, poster-inspired image of Donald is positioned on the left chest as a compact badge measuring approximately 10 cm in height. The smaller placement creates a contemporary streetwear appearance while maintaining a clear connection to American football. It is suitable for Sunday games and Super Bowl parties while remaining versatile enough for everyday clothing.
The hoodie is available in White, Black, Red, Navy and Grey, with adult sizes running from S through to 3XL. Navy complements the Rams connection, while white gives the colourful artwork a clean background. Black offers an adaptable everyday option, grey has the familiar feel of traditional sportswear, and red creates a stronger, more distinctive contrast.
A Pittsburgh Player Built for the Defensive Line
Aaron Charles Donald was born in Pittsburgh in May 1991. As a teenager, he developed his athletic ability through early-morning training sessions with his father. Those demanding routines helped him build the discipline and physical strength required to compete against much larger opponents.
Donald played at Penn Hills High School before joining the University of Pittsburgh. He appeared as a reserve during his first college season and then developed into one of the country’s leading defensive players.
As a sophomore, Donald recorded 11 sacks and 16 tackles for loss. His performances demonstrated the quick first step, powerful hands and exceptional leverage that would later define his professional career.
Donald’s senior campaign produced 28.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks and four forced fumbles. He became the ACC Defensive Player of the Year and a unanimous All-American. His trophy collection included the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Chuck Bednarik Award, Outland Trophy and Lombardi Award.
The Rams selected Donald with the 13th pick of the 2014 draft. Although some observers questioned whether he possessed the size normally expected of an interior defender, his speed and technique allowed him to defeat blockers who were considerably heavier and taller.
An Immediate Impact with the Rams
Donald recorded nine sacks and 18 tackles for loss during his debut season with the St. Louis Rams. He earned a Pro Bowl selection and was named Defensive Rookie of the Year, immediately establishing himself among the best players at his position.
His second season brought 11 sacks, 22 tackles for loss and his first First-Team All-Pro selection. Donald could disrupt both running and passing plays, making him difficult to remove through tactical adjustments.
When the franchise moved to California before the 2016 season, Donald became a central figure in the new Los Angeles Rams era. His explosive movement from the interior gave the defence a foundation around which the rest of the team could be built.
Donald regularly faced double teams, with two offensive linemen assigned to prevent him from reaching the quarterback. He could still split the blockers, use his strength to drive them backwards or create space for a teammate to attack from another position.
Three-Time Defensive Player of the Year
Donald won his first Defensive Player of the Year award for the 2017 season. He recorded 11 sacks and forced five fumbles despite appearing in only 14 regular-season games. His pressure helped the Rams reach the play-offs in Sean McVay’s first year as head coach.
The following campaign became the statistical peak of Donald’s career. In 2018, he led the league with 20.5 sacks and added 25 tackles behind the line of scrimmage. His sack total set a new single-season standard for a defensive tackle at the time.
Donald was the only unanimous First-Team All-Pro selection that season and won his second consecutive Defensive Player of the Year award. The Rams finished 13–3, defeated the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints in the play-offs, and advanced to Super Bowl LIII.
Los Angeles was defeated by the New England Patriots in a low-scoring championship game. The result delayed Donald’s pursuit of a Super Bowl title, but his individual season remains one of the greatest ever produced by an interior defender.
Donald won Defensive Player of the Year for a third time following the 2020 campaign. He finished with 13.5 sacks and four forced fumbles, demonstrating that opposing teams still could not find a consistent method of controlling him.
His three awards placed him alongside a select group of defensive heroes. Donald was no longer simply the leading tackle of his generation; he had entered discussions about the greatest defensive players in American football clothing and merchandise.
Completing the Mission in Super Bowl LVI
The Rams entered the 2021 season with a squad constructed to challenge for the championship. Donald recorded a career-high 84 combined tackles, 12.5 sacks and four forced fumbles during the regular season.
Los Angeles defeated the Arizona Cardinals in the Wild Card round before securing a dramatic victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Rams then met division rivals San Francisco in the NFC Championship Game.
With the 49ers attempting a final comeback, Donald applied pressure that contributed to Jimmy Garoppolo releasing a hurried pass. The ball was intercepted, securing a 20–17 Rams victory and a second Super Bowl appearance in four seasons.
Super Bowl LVI took place at the Rams’ home stadium against the Cincinnati Bengals. Donald recorded two sacks and consistently attacked the pocket as Los Angeles attempted to contain quarterback Joe Burrow.
The Rams moved ahead 23–20 through a late touchdown. Cincinnati then faced fourth-and-one during its final possession. Donald powered through the line, reached Burrow and forced the quarterback into an incomplete pass. The play ended the game and secured the Super Bowl championship.
Donald celebrated by pointing towards his ring finger, recognising that the team achievement he had pursued throughout his career was finally complete. It was an appropriate ending to the game: with the championship in doubt, the Rams’ defensive hero created the decisive pressure.
Ten Seasons of Elite Performance
Donald reached 100 career sacks during the 2022 season. An ankle injury caused him to miss the closing weeks of the campaign, but he still earned his ninth consecutive Pro Bowl selection.
He returned in 2023 and helped a developing Rams team reach the play-offs. Donald recorded 53 combined tackles, eight sacks and three pass deflections. He was selected for a tenth Pro Bowl and received his eighth First-Team All-Pro honour.
Donald announced his retirement in March 2024. He had spent his entire 10-season career with the same Rams organisation, representing the franchise in both St. Louis and Los Angeles. His regular-season record included 154 appearances, 543 combined tackles, 111 sacks, 24 forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries.
He reached the Pro Bowl in every season he played and received First-Team All-Pro recognition eight times. Donald was also selected for the league’s 2010s All-Decade Team, reflecting his position as the defining interior defender of the period.
After two seasons away from competitive football, Donald worked out with the Rams during 2026 while considering whether he wanted to play again. No additional competitive appearance had been added to his career record at the time of writing, and his established achievements already place him among the game’s greatest defensive players.
