His impressive goal-scoring record remains one of the best in the history of English football.

Rowley began his professional career at Leicester City, where he made 72 appearances and scored 28 goals. However, it was at his next club, Grimsby Town, where he truly made a name for himself, scoring 118 goals in 164 appearances. His goal-scoring prowess caught the attention of top clubs, and he went on to play for Shrewsbury Town, where he continued his success, netting 100 goals in 138 appearances.

Rowley also had brief spells at other clubs, including Southend United, and finished his playing career with Mansfield Town. Over the course of his club career, Rowley built a reputation as a clinical finisher, earning admiration from fans and players alike.
