Over his time with the Toffees, Latchford netted 138 goals in 289 appearances, including a memorable 30-goal haul in the 1977–78 First Division season – a feat that earned him a £10,000 prize and cemented his place in the hearts of fans across Merseyside and beyond. Latchford was a powerhouse in the air, with a sharp eye for goal, blending physical strength with a poacher’s instinct.
He also represented England with pride, scoring 5 goals in 12 appearances for the national team. His impact stretched far beyond Goodison Park – he later played for Swansea City, Dutch side NAC Breda, and Coventry City before retiring, but it’s his golden years at Everton that remain legendary.
