Eden Hazard won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, two Europa Leagues and a League Cup with Chelsea across seven seasons at Stamford Bridge — but the trophies only partially capture what he gave the club. His ability to receive the ball under pressure and immediately create — through dribbling, through vision, through the kind of low centre of gravity that made him essentially impossible to dispossess when he was at his best — made him the most exciting player in the Premier League for a significant stretch of the 2010s.

Hazard's Europa League final performance against Arsenal in Baku in 2019 was his Chelsea farewell — two goals and a performance that reminded everyone what they were about to lose to Real Madrid. His years in the Belgian national team alongside De Bruyne and Lukaku gave Belgium the golden generation tag that they could never quite convert into a major tournament, but Hazard's individual performances in those tournaments were consistently brilliant. Chelsea supporters who watched him regularly consider him among the finest players they have ever seen in a blue shirt.
