Luis Suárez scored 31 goals in 33 Premier League appearances in 2013-14 — one of the most prolific individual seasons in the division’s history — and was named Player of the Season despite serving a ten-match ban at the start of the campaign. His combination of technical quality, movement and intensity made him the most difficult forward in English football to defend against across those two seasons.

Suárez’s Anfield years were defined by the tension between extraordinary football and complex behaviour — but for supporters who watched him, the quality was so exceptional that specific goals and performances are what endure. His partnership with Daniel Sturridge pushed Liverpool agonisingly close to the title before his move to Barcelona in 2014.
