Michael Owen won the Ballon d’Or in 2001 while at Liverpool, scored the goal against Argentina at the 1998 World Cup that turned him into a global star at eighteen, and won the UEFA Cup, FA Cup and League Cup in Liverpool’s 2001 treble season.
