Reaney was an integral part of Don Revie's iconic Leeds team that dominated English football in the late 1960s and early 1970s. During his 12 years at Leeds, he made an impressive 413 appearances and scored 14 goals. Known for his tireless work ethic, his ability to support the attack while maintaining defensive solidity made him one of the best full-backs of his era.

In addition to his club success, Reaney earned 19 caps for the England national team between 1966 and 1973. He played a key role in England’s defence during a time when the team was a strong contender on the international stage. While he was not part of the squad that won the 1966 World Cup, his consistency and defensive intelligence ensured his place in the national team for several years.

Paul Reaney's career began at his local club, Chelsea, but it was his move to Leeds United in 1962 that would define his career. At Leeds, Reaney achieved major success, contributing to the club's League titles, FA Cup wins, and European glory, all while playing a key role in their defence.
