The Chosen Kid From Akron
LeBron became a national name while still at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in Akron. In 2003 his home-state Cleveland Cavaliers made him the number one pick in the NBA Draft, and he duly won Rookie of the Year. He was league MVP in 2009 and 2010.

South Beach and the First Rings
In 2010 LeBron moved to the Miami Heat, swapping No. 23 for No. 6. The move paid off: Miami won back-to-back NBA titles in 2012 and 2013, and LeBron was Finals MVP and league MVP both years.

Coming Home, Then Hollywood
LeBron returned to Cleveland in 2014 with one mission, and in 2016 he delivered. Down 3–1 in the Finals to Golden State, the Cavaliers became the first team in Finals history to come back from that deficit, winning Games 5, 6 and 7 to end the city's long wait for a major title.
In 2018 he joined the Los Angeles Lakers and won his fourth ring in 2020, again as Finals MVP. On 7 February 2023 he passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time leading scorer and in March 2025 became the first player to reach 50,000 combined regular-season and playoff points. On 22 October 2024 he and his son Bronny became the first father and son to play together in an NBA game.

The Philadelphia Chapter
In 2025–26 LeBron averaged 20.9 points and 7.2 assists, posted the oldest triple-double in NBA history, passed Robert Parish for the most games played and became the first player to appear in 300 playoff games. The Lakers lost to Oklahoma City in the second round, and that summer he chose Philadelphia, saying he believes he can help make the 76ers a championship team.
