Early Years: A Teenage Sensation

Bolt grew up in the rural parish of Trelawny and showed his speed early. At the 2002 World Junior Championships in Kingston, aged just 15, he won 200m gold in front of a home crowd, an early glimpse of the star to come. Tall for a sprinter, he was first seen as a 200m specialist before moving up to the 100m.
