Early Years and USC
Born Troy Benjamin Aumua in Garden Grove, California, on 19 April 1981, he later took the surname Polamalu, his mother's maiden name. Proud of his American Samoan heritage, he starred at the University of Southern California from 1999 to 2002 and was a consensus All-American in his final season.
The Steelers traded up to take him with the 16th overall pick in the first round of the 2003 NFL Draft. Celebrate No. 43 with our Troy Polamalu Steelers American Football Icon Frame Men's Hoodie.

Super Bowl Champion
Polamalu became a starter in his second season and quickly established himself as a game-changer. He could blitz, cover, tackle and read plays before they happened, often seeming to be everywhere at once. In the 2005 season he helped the Steelers win Super Bowl XL, the first of his two rings.

The Pick-Six and a Second Ring
His defining moment came in the AFC Championship Game in January 2009. With the Steelers leading the Baltimore Ravens, Polamalu intercepted Joe Flacco and weaved 40 yards for a touchdown to seal a 23–14 win. Two weeks later Pittsburgh won Super Bowl XLIII, giving Polamalu his second championship.
In 2010 he was named AP Defensive Player of the Year. Over his career he earned eight Pro Bowl selections and four First-team All-Pro honours. Our Troy Polamalu Men's Hoodie is a tribute to one of the great safeties.

Retirement and the Hall of Fame
Polamalu retired after the 2014 season with 32 interceptions, 12 sacks and 14 forced fumbles. He was named to the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2020, his first year of eligibility. He has also been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
