Brian Kidd, from European Cup winner to elite coach
Brian Kidd came through Manchester United's youth system and celebrated his nineteenth birthday by scoring in the 1968 European Cup final victory over Benfica at Wembley. A clever, hard-working forward, he later played for Arsenal, Manchester City, Everton and Bolton Wanderers, adapting his game across more than a decade in the top flight.
His second career became equally significant. Kidd served as assistant to Alex Ferguson when Manchester United won the Premier League, FA Cup and other trophies during the 1990s. After management with Blackburn Rovers and coaching roles elsewhere, he joined Manchester City's staff and became a trusted link across several managerial eras, contributing to league titles under Roberto Mancini, Manuel Pellegrini and Pep Guardiola.
A name connecting two Manchester histories
Kidd works as a Players Couture design for supporters who remember the Wembley header, his years as a forward or the calm presence beside the technical area. It recognises a rare playing and coaching career without copying either Manchester club's crest or kit.
How to wear the Brian Kidd T-shirt
Wear it on match day, for away travel, at a pub screening or through an ordinary weekend when a replica shirt is not the easiest option. Pair it with denim and trainers, add an overshirt in cooler weather, or wear it with shorts through summer. It gives football supporters a clear way to represent the player and the memories behind the name. White gives the print a crisp finish, Black and Navy provide easy darker options, Grey has a softer athletic character and Red adds more impact.
Fit, fabric and made-to-order production
The T-shirt is made from soft ringspun cotton with a crew neck, short sleeves and a regular men's fit. It is available in White, Black, Red, Navy and Grey in sizes S, M, L, XL, 2XL and 3XL. Check the size guide before ordering, particularly when buying for somebody else or choosing a looser fit.
Each garment is printed to order in the United Kingdom after the customer selects the colour and size. No finished pre-printed stock is produced before an order is placed. This reduces the need to hold large quantities of finished stock and allows Players Couture to maintain specialist names alongside widely recognised favourites. Free UK delivery is included.
Wash inside out with similar colours on a cool cycle. Avoid bleach, do not iron directly over the print and air dry where practical. These steps help protect the cotton shape and printed lettering through repeat wear.
