Cecilia Brækhus, the First Lady who changed women's boxing
Born in Colombia and raised in Norway, Cecilia Brækhus built a career that altered both sporting records and the place of boxing in her adopted country. Norway had prohibited professional boxing for decades, so much of her early championship career took place abroad. Her success helped build the case for the sport's return, and in 2016 she defended her titles in Oslo before a home crowd.
Brækhus unified the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO welterweight belts in 2014, becoming the first woman to hold all four major titles simultaneously. She remained unbeaten through 36 professional contests and established records for the longest reign as a four-belt undisputed champion. After defeats to Jessica McCaskill, she moved up in weight and closed her career in Norway by defeating Ema Kozin for the WBC super-welterweight title.
The correct Norwegian spelling for a boxing pioneer
Brækhus retains the æ used in her surname. The name works as a Players Couture design for Norwegian supporters and boxing fanatics who recognise a champion defined by skill, longevity and persistence. It offers understated fight-night clothing without copying a sanctioning-body belt, promotional poster or sponsor mark.
How to wear the Cecilia Brækhus T-shirt
Wear it on fight night, to a live card, at a boxing gym away from training or while watching with friends. The lettering pairs with denim, joggers or shorts and gives boxing fanatics a direct reference without copying a belt or promotional poster. White gives the print a crisp finish, Black and Navy provide easy darker options, Grey has a softer athletic character and Red adds more impact.
Fit, fabric and made-to-order production
The T-shirt is made from soft ringspun cotton with a crew neck, short sleeves and a regular men's fit. It is available in White, Black, Red, Navy and Grey in sizes S, M, L, XL, 2XL and 3XL. Check the size guide before ordering, particularly when buying for somebody else or choosing a looser fit.
Each garment is printed to order in the United Kingdom after the customer selects the colour and size. No finished pre-printed stock is produced before an order is placed. This reduces the need to hold large quantities of finished stock and allows Players Couture to maintain specialist names alongside widely recognised favourites. Free UK delivery is included.
Wash inside out with similar colours on a cool cycle. Avoid bleach, do not iron directly over the print and air dry where practical. These steps help protect the cotton shape and printed lettering through repeat wear.
