Kevin and Perry began as Harry Enfield television characters built around the sudden transformation from cheerful children into spectacularly sullen teenagers. Kevin Patterson's groans, entitlement and horror at his parents were matched by Perry's eager support, turning ordinary family exchanges into a recognisable comic ritual.
