The story behind the name
Tokyo-born Horigome began skating at six and developed his street craft after moving to the United States. He won the first Olympic men's street gold on home soil at Tokyo 2020, then defended the title in Paris with a last-attempt nollie 270 noseblunt slide that took him from seventh to first. His blend of difficult ledge tricks, clean landings and competitive nerve has set a modern standard.
