In Pro Evolution Soccer's classic-player database, licensing restrictions gave Luís Figo the cult alias M.Bitencourt. For players who spent hours editing squads or selecting the World and European Classics, that fictional name became part of the game's mythology. Behind it was Luís Figo: Figo captained Portugal, won the 2000 Ballon d'Or and 2001 FIFA World Player of the Year award, and starred for both Barcelona and Real Madrid before completing a trophy-rich career at Inter. His controversial move across the Clásico divide remains one of football's defining transfers.
Why the two names? The chest print uses M.Bitencourt, the fictional classic-player name remembered from PES, while the footballer behind the avatar is Luís Figo. It is a small piece of gaming history for supporters who knew the player before every classic squad was fully licensed.
