Billy McNeill Celtic T-Shirt | Players Couture
Billy McNeill captained Celtic to the European Cup in 1967 — the first British club to win the trophy, doing so with a squad of players every single one of whom was born within 30 miles of Celtic Park. The Lisbon Lions are one of football's great stories, and McNeill was the captain who lifted the trophy in Portugal after a performance that remains one of the most celebrated in British football history.
McNeill spent his entire playing career at Celtic, winning nine Scottish league titles across two spells in management at the club as well as his playing years. He was the defensive leader of a side that dominated Scottish football through the late 1960s and early 1970s under Jock Stein, a partnership between manager and captain that produced sustained excellence over a remarkable period. His connection to the club was total, and Celtic supporters still regard him as the greatest captain in the club's history.
If you're a Celtic fan or looking for a gift for someone who appreciates the Lisbon Lions story, this Players Couture design captures McNeill in the green and white hoops in the Pantone-card illustration style.
The t-shirt is made from 100% premium cotton with a regular unisex fit, available in White, Navy, Red, Black and Grey in sizes XS to 5XL. Every piece is made to order at our studio in Manchester — nothing is held in stock, so your order is produced fresh just for you.
