Bullitt and the pursuit through San Francisco

Peter Yates's 1968 film Bullitt stars Steve McQueen as Frank Bullitt, a San Francisco police lieutenant protecting a witness in a case shaped by political pressure and organised crime. McQueen's restrained performance, location photography and the film's procedural detail create a cooler, less theatrical kind of crime thriller.

Bullitt is inseparable from its car chase. A Ford Mustang GT and Dodge Charger race through San Francisco's steep streets in a sequence built from real speed, hard editing and the geography of the city. The scene influenced action filmmaking for decades, but the film also endures through Lalo Schifrin's score, Jacqueline Bisset's presence and McQueen's understated style, including the roll-neck, jacket and famously minimal dialogue.

Bullitt works as a Players Couture design for admirers of classic thrillers, Steve McQueen and practical stunt work. The single word carries the reference without reproducing the Mustang, film poster or Warner Bros. artwork.

How to wear the Bullitt T-shirt

Wear it for a cinema trip, repertory screening, film festival or relaxed night with friends who know the reference. The typography works with denim, chinos or shorts and provides subtle movie merchandise without reproducing a poster. White gives the print a crisp finish, Black and Navy provide easy darker options, Grey has a softer athletic character and Red adds more impact.

Fit, fabric and made-to-order production

The T-shirt is made from soft ringspun cotton with a crew neck, short sleeves and a regular men's fit. It is available in White, Black, Red, Navy and Grey in sizes S, M, L, XL, 2XL and 3XL. Check the size guide before ordering, particularly when buying for somebody else or choosing a looser fit.

Each garment is printed to order in the United Kingdom after the customer selects the colour and size. No finished pre-printed stock is produced before an order is placed. This reduces the need to hold large quantities of finished stock and allows Players Couture to maintain specialist names alongside widely recognised favourites. Free UK delivery is included.

Wash inside out with similar colours on a cool cycle. Avoid bleach, do not iron directly over the print and air dry where practical. These steps help protect the cotton shape and printed lettering through repeat wear.

If a rights holder cannot see the good intentions behind the design or would prefer the name removed, Players Couture will review the concern and respectfully remove the product on request.
