Dino Zoff Juventus T-Shirt | Players Couture

Dino Zoff captained Italy to the 1982 World Cup at the age of 40 — the oldest captain ever to lift the trophy — having already won six Serie A titles, two Italian Cups and a UEFA Cup with Juventus. His career at the Turin club spanning sixteen seasons was the foundation of a Juventus side that dominated Italian football through the 1970s and early 1980s, and his status as the finest Italian goalkeeper of the 20th century is essentially unchallenged.

Zoff's Juventus years were characterised by the quiet dominance of a goalkeeper who made the difficult look routine. His positional sense, his command of the penalty area and his distribution were all ahead of his time — qualities that are considered fundamental to the modern goalkeeper's game but which Zoff was displaying forty years ago. His six Scudetti with the club were won alongside some of the finest Italian players of the era, but Zoff's contribution to the defensive solidity that made Juventus so difficult to beat was acknowledged by teammates and coaches throughout his career.
