Divock Origi Liverpool Hoodie | Players Couture

Divock Origi's contribution to Liverpool's Champions League-winning campaign of 2018-19 extended far beyond the goals he scored — though the goals were extraordinary. His late, late winner in the Merseyside derby at Anfield in December 2018, scored in the 96th minute when the ball bounced off Pickford's shoulder, was the first of a series of moments that gave him a unique place in the club's folklore. His two goals against Barcelona in the semi-final second leg, helping complete a 4-0 comeback, were as important as any goals scored in the competition that year.

Origi was never a regular starter for Liverpool, which makes his record of contributing in the moments that mattered most even more remarkable. The relationship between an impact substitute and a fanbase is rarely as intense as the one he formed with the Kop — supporters who recognised that his goals came not at random but in the matches and moments that defined seasons. When he left Anfield in 2022, the tribute he received was entirely in proportion to what he had given.
