Edgar Davids Juventus T-Shirt | Players Couture

Edgar Davids arrived at Juventus in 1997 from AC Milan and became one of the most distinctive and influential midfielders in Serie A over the next six seasons. The Dutchman's physical presence, his aggressive pressing and his ability to combine defensive work with incisive forward passing made him exactly what the Turin side needed — a midfielder who could do the unglamorous work that allowed the more celebrated players around him to operate freely. The protective goggles he wore following eye surgery became as recognisable as his dreadlocks.

Davids won the Serie A title twice with Juventus and was a key figure in the club's consistent European presence during his time there. His partnership with Zinedine Zidane — who provided the creativity while Davids provided the energy and combativeness — gave Juventus one of the most complementary central midfield combinations in European football. The Pitbull, as he was known, played with an intensity that never diminished regardless of the opponent or the occasion.
