Eric Cantona Manchester United Kids T-Shirt | Players Couture

Eric Cantona arrived at Manchester United from Leeds United in November 1992 and won four Premier League titles in five seasons — but the statistics barely begin to capture what he gave the club. His presence, his standards and his belief that United could dominate English football in the way they had in the late 1960s transformed the culture of a dressing room that already had enormous talent but needed someone to demand more of it. United had not won the league in 26 years before Cantona arrived. He helped them win it five times.

Cantona's collar, his chest-first walk onto the pitch and his absolute certainty that he was the best player on the field at all times were not affectations — they were the expression of a player who had decided that those around him would either match his standards or he would not carry them. His ability in tight spaces, his technical variety and his contribution in big moments made him one of the Premier League's defining players. King Eric. The collar turned up. Everything else followed from there.
