In Pro Evolution Soccer's classic-player database, licensing restrictions gave Patrick Vieira the cult alias G.Foignet. For players who spent hours editing squads or selecting the World and European Classics, that fictional name became part of the game's mythology. Behind it was Patrick Vieira: Vieira captained Arsenal's Invincibles and won three Premier League titles and four FA Cups during one of the club's greatest eras. A 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 winner with France, he later collected league honours in Italy and brought the same competitive authority into management.

Why the two names? The chest print uses G.Foignet, the fictional classic-player name remembered from PES, while the footballer behind the avatar is Patrick Vieira. It is a small piece of gaming history for supporters who knew the player before every classic squad was fully licensed.
