Paul Ince Hoodie — The Guv'nor of Old Trafford

2x Premier League winner with Manchester United. 53 England caps — the first Black player to captain England. FA Cup winner 1994.

Paul Ince dubbed himself the Guv'nor — and at Manchester United between 1989 and 1995, he was exactly that. A powerful, driving central midfielder who combined physical presence with technical quality, Ince was central to the Ferguson sides that ended United's long wait for the First Division title in 1993 and then retained it in 1994. His combative style, his ability to win the ball and carry it forward, and his goals from midfield made him one of the most effective midfielders of the Premier League's formative years.

After United he had successful spells at Inter Milan, Liverpool, Middlesbrough and Wolverhampton Wanderers. For England he earned 53 caps and — in 1993 — became the first Black player ever to captain the national team, a historically significant moment in English football. He later managed Macclesfield Town, MK Dons, Notts County and Blackpool.
