The story behind the name

Growing up at Pipeline gave Florence an education in waves few surfers could match. He translated that foundation into back-to-back world titles in 2016 and 2017, overcame major knee injuries and returned to claim a third championship in 2024. Equally compelling in heavy barrels, high-performance surf and ocean filmmaking, he represents both the competitive and exploratory sides of modern surfing.
