Jurgen Klinsmann won the FIFA World Cup with West Germany in 1990 and the European Championship with Germany in 1996, and played for clubs including Stuttgart, Inter Milan, Monaco, Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich, Sampdoria and Orange County. His season at Tottenham in 1994-95 was the most celebrated of his English career — 30 goals in all competitions, FWA Footballer of the Year, and a diving celebration for his debut goal that endeared him immediately to a fan base that had expected to dislike him. For Germany, he earned 108 caps and scored 47 international goals. He later managed the German national team, guiding them to the semi-finals of the 2006 World Cup.
