Luis Suárez joined Inter Miami in 2024, reuniting with Lionel Messi in Florida and adding genuine goalscoring quality to a squad already attracting more global attention than any previous MLS club. His understanding with Messi — built across five seasons at Barcelona and the MSN Treble — gave Miami a partnership that MLS defences were simply not equipped to handle at a consistently high level.

Suárez’s Miami chapter was the final act of a career that took him from Montevideo to Ajax to Liverpool to Barcelona to Atlético and finally to Florida. His goals for Inter Miami gave American supporters the chance to watch one of the sport’s great strikers while he still had goals in him.
