The Marco Van Basten hoodie from Players Couture carries the name of the most technically gifted striker of the late 1980s and early 1990s across the chest in bold lettering, contrasting colour, made to order when you place yours. Marco Van Basten won three Ballon d’Or awards, two Champions Leagues with AC Milan, and scored what many consider the greatest goal in the history of international football — a right-foot volley from an impossible angle in the 1988 European Championship final that gave the Netherlands their first and only major international trophy.

Marco Van Basten joined Ajax from the youth team and scored 128 goals in 133 league appearances before moving to AC Milan in 1987. He won the European club football in 1989 and 1990 and three Serie A titles alongside Ruud Gullit and Frank Rijkaard. He won the Ballon d’Or in 1988, 1989 and 1992. His volley in the 1988 European Championship final against the Soviet Union — struck on the turn from near the byline — was chosen by UEFA as the greatest European Championship goal of all time. He was named the best player at that tournament. Ankle injuries curtailed his career and he retired in 1995 at the age of thirty.
