Paolo di Canio Lazio Hoodie | Players Couture

Paolo Di Canio spent three seasons at Lazio before his move to Sheffield Wednesday and then West Ham, and his time in Rome was the formation of the theatrical, technically extraordinary forward who would later become one of the most celebrated players in English football. The Roman-born forward playing for his city's team gave Di Canio a connection to the club that went beyond the professional — Lazio was his team, and his performances reflected the intensity of that relationship.

Di Canio's Lazio years coincided with the club's period of European ambition, and his contribution in Italian football before the English chapter gave him the technical foundation that made him such an entertaining and occasionally maddening presence at the Premier League clubs he represented. His goalscoring instinct, his technique and the unpredictability that made him impossible to ignore were all fully formed before he arrived in England.
