Paul Scholes spent his entire career at Manchester United, making 718 appearances for the club and winning eleven Premier League titles, three FA Cups and two Champions Leagues — the most decorated career of any English player in the Premier League era. His technical ability — his passing, his shooting from distance and his ability to receive and turn in tight spaces — made him one of the most complete central midfielders English football has produced, and his decision to remain at United throughout a career that attracted interest from Europe's finest clubs reflected values about loyalty and belonging that defined his entire professional life.
