Raúl González Blanco is remembered as one of the most intelligent, clinical and respected forwards of his generation. A Real Madrid icon, he came through the club’s youth system before becoming a first-team legend, scoring 323 goals in 741 appearances and winning six La Liga titles, three European club football trophies, four Spanish Super Cups, the UEFA Super Cup and two Intercontinental Cups. After Real Madrid, Raúl continued his career with Schalke 04, where he became a fan favourite in Germany, winning the DFB-Pokal and DFL-Supercup. He later played for Al Sadd in Qatar, winning the Qatar Stars League, before finishing his playing career with New York Cosmos.

For Spain, Raúl earned 102 caps and scored 44 goals, becoming one of the nation’s standout attacking players. He represented Spain at the 1998, 2002 and 2006 World Cups, as well as major European Championships, and was known for his movement, leadership, finishing and ability to deliver in big moments.
