Four years later the All Blacks became the first men's side to retain the trophy, and McCaw became the first captain to lift it twice. His 131 Test victories produced an extraordinary winning rate, while World Rugby Player of the Year awards in 2006, 2009 and 2010 recognised sustained individual excellence. He retired immediately after the 2015 final with virtually every major honour secured.
