For Brazil, Socrates earned 60 caps and scored 22 goals. He captained the famous 1982 Brazil World Cup team, a side still loved by football fanatics for its flair, creativity and attacking beauty. Playing alongside names such as Zico, Falcao and Toninho Cerezo, Socrates became the face of a golden footballing generation.
