Steve Bull Wolves T-Shirt | Players Couture

Steve Bull scored 306 goals for Wolverhampton Wanderers across thirteen seasons — a record that places him as the club's all-time leading scorer by an enormous margin, and one of the most prolific goalscorers the Football League has ever produced outside the top division. He scored 50 goals in the Third and Fourth Divisions as Wolves began their climb back up the football pyramid, and he continued to score as the club reached the top flight — earning an England call-up while still a Second Division player, the first to achieve that distinction in decades.

Bull's Molineux career was defined by loyalty as much as goals. He turned down moves to bigger clubs, including a reported interest from Liverpool at the height of his powers, to remain at the club that had given him his chance when he arrived from West Brom. The connection between player and supporter — the one who stayed, the one who scored, the one who made going to Molineux mean something during years when the results made it difficult to sustain that meaning — was complete and unconditional.
