Victor Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in the summer of 2024 and immediately became one of the most productive strikers in Turkish football — his pace, his aerial ability and his clinical finishing making him exactly the kind of centre-forward that the Süper Lig had not previously seen at such a high level. The Nigerian international's performances in Istanbul continued the form that had made him one of the most talked-about forwards in European football during his Napoli years.

Osimhen's ability to run in behind the defensive line, to convert from difficult angles and to lead the press from the front gave Galatasaray a constant attacking threat that unsettled even organised defensive systems. His connection with the club's supporters, built on consistent goalscoring in a competitive environment, showed the qualities of an individual player capable of carrying a team's attacking ambitions on their own.
