Viktor Gyokeres Arsenal Kids T-Shirt | Players Couture

Viktor Gyökeres joined Arsenal from Sporting CP in the summer of 2025, completing one of the most anticipated transfers of that window after two seasons in Lisbon during which the Swedish striker had scored at a rate that made him the most sought-after centre-forward in Europe. His 97 goals in 102 appearances for Sporting CP — a record that defied belief even to those watching it happen — established him as a player capable of doing things that made statisticians check their data twice before publishing it.

Gyökeres's combination of pace, physical presence and clinical finishing in every conceivable situation gave Arsenal an attacking option they had been lacking — a centre-forward who could score from open play, from set-pieces, with either foot and his head, and who pressed with an intensity that suited Mikel Arteta's system perfectly. Sweden had a striker whose international contributions were going to grow significantly with the platform a top Premier League club provides.
