Netflix confirmed in January 2026 that the third season of Alice in Borderland was its final one. Released on 25 September 2025, season 3 drew 25 million views in its first months, and no season 4 or spin-off has been announced.
With deadly games, an eerily empty Tokyo and a cast led by Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya, it became one of Netflix's biggest Japanese hits. Here is the story. Find more shows in our TV series collection.

The Final Season
Season 3 arrived on 25 September 2025 with six episodes, as Usagi is drawn back to the Borderland and Arisu follows her. Netflix later described it as the third and final season.
The Cast
Alongside Yamazaki and Tsuchiya, the series made stars of Nijirō Murakami as the cool-headed Chishiya and Aya Asahina as the fighter Kuina, both of whom returned as guests in season 3. Ayaka Miyoshi played Ann, while Hayato Isomura and Katsuya Maiguma were memorable as Banda and Yaba. Season 3 brought newcomers including Kento Kaku as Ryuji, Koji Ohkura as Tetsu and Tina Tamashiro as Rei.
Reception and Legacy
Critics praised the striking visuals, the cinematography and the two leads, and season 1 reached around 18 million households in its first month. Season 2 earned some of the strongest reviews of the run. With the manga now fully adapted and Netflix describing season 3 as the final season, the show ends as planned, as one of the streaming service's defining Japanese originals. For fans who want more, Haro Aso's original manga remains the place to revisit Arisu and Usagi's story, and all 22 episodes are on Netflix. Season 1 was filmed between August and December 2019, before the world had heard of the Borderland.
