Luke Humphries is back in the winner's circle. Early Years in Berkshire
Born in Reading and raised in Newbury, Humphries caught the darts bug from his dad, who played county darts for Berkshire. He took up the game in 2010.
Full-time darts was not an option at first. He spent six years working as a roofer before hanging up the ladders in 2018.

The Breakthrough
Five Development Tour titles in 2017 and top spot on that tour's rankings earned him a Tour Card for 2018. He reached the World Championship quarter-finals on debut in 2019 and won the World Youth Championship later that year.
In 2022 he was named Pro Tour Player of the Year.

World Champion and World No. 1
Autumn 2023 changed everything. Humphries beat Price to win the World Grand Prix, then added the Grand Slam of Darts and the Players Championship Finals within weeks.
In January 2024 he beat Luke Littler 7–4 in the World Championship final and became world No. 1, a position he held for almost two years. The World Matchplay, a second Players Championship Finals and the World Cup with Michael Smith followed, and he was named PDC Player of the Year for 2023.

Rivalry and Legacy
The Littler rivalry has defined his recent years. Humphries won the 2025 World Masters with a 6–5 thriller against Jonny Clayton and beat Littler 11–8 to lift the Premier League, but then lost a string of major finals, several of them to his young rival.
Teaming up with Littler, he helped England win the 2026 World Cup, and his Leicester comeback proved he is still a major force.
