David Beckham is the most recognisable English footballer of the modern era. His name transcends sport. A Champions League winner, a Premier League icon, a World Cup qualifier and the most followed British footballer in the world for the best part of two decades. This Beckham hoodie from Players Couture celebrates the England captain in the white shirt of his country. Beckham was born in Leytonstone, east London, in 1975 and joined Manchester United's academy as a child. He made his debut for United in 1992 and became one of the most important players in one of the greatest club sides English football has produced. He was part of the treble-winning United squad of 1999 that won the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in a single unforgettable season. His crossing, his set pieces and his ability to deliver the ball from wide areas with pinpoint precision made him one of the most valued players in the game.

His England career ran from 1996 to 2009, spanning 115 caps and producing some of the most iconic moments in the nation's recent football history. His free kick against Greece in 2001, curled into the top corner in the final minute of injury time to qualify England for the World Cup, is one of the great individual moments in English football history. He captained his country for much of that period, leading England to the last eight of the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea. He played in three World Cups and two European Championships in an international career that defined an era.

Beyond Manchester United, Beckham played for Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. He became a global ambassador for the sport, someone whose face was known in countries where football was barely played, and helped bring the game to new audiences across America in particular during his time with LA Galaxy.
