David Ginola Newcastle United Hoodie | Players Couture

David Ginola arrived at Newcastle United from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 1995 and became one of the most visually spectacular players the Premier League has ever seen. His pace down the left wing, his ability to beat full-backs with either direction and his capacity for the kind of moment that made entire stadiums rise to their feet made him central to Kevin Keegan's Entertainers side — the most exciting team in the country, even if they couldn't quite win the title.

Ginola's two seasons at St James' Park coincided with Newcastle's best Premier League years. The 4-3 defeat to Liverpool in 1996, with its extraordinary sequence of goals, featured some of Ginola's best work and became one of the most watched match highlights in Premier League history. When the title race slipped away in the spring of 1996, Ginola was not responsible — but his subsequent departure to Tottenham felt like the end of something. Newcastle supporters still speak of those two seasons as among the most entertaining in the club's history.
