The Jaap Stam hoodie from Players Couture puts the name of the most imposing and technically accomplished central defender in Manchester United’s history at the centre of their most famous era across the chest in bold lettering, contrasting colour, made to order when you place yours. Jaap Stam joined United from PSV Eindhoven in 1998 for £10.75 million — then a world record for a defender — won the Treble in his debut season and was named in the UEFA Team of the Year in 1998, 1999 and 2000. For United supporters who consider the Treble squad the greatest United team ever assembled, and who know Stam’s contribution to it, this is the fan apparel.

Jaap Stam joined Manchester United from PSV Eindhoven in 1998 for £10.75 million, setting a world record fee for a defender. In three seasons at Old Trafford he won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the European club football in his debut season and two more Premier League titles. He was named the UEFA Defender of the Year in 1998 and was placed in the UEFA Team of the Year in three consecutive years. He left United for Lazio in 2001 in controversial circumstances following the publication of his autobiography. For the Netherlands, he earned 67 caps and was part of the Dutch squad that reached the semi-finals of the 1998 World Cup.
