Rachel Brown-Finnis T-Shirt – A Tribute to a Lionesses Pioneer
Celebrate the career of Rachel Brown-Finnis with this T-Shirt from Players Couture, honouring one of the goalkeepers who helped carry English women's football through its formative years on the international stage.
A Career Built Between the Posts
Born in Burnley in 1980, Brown-Finnis began as a goalkeeper almost by accident, told as a young girl that if she wanted to play with the boys she'd "better go in goal." She joined Liverpool Ladies as a teenager, played her college soccer in the United States at Alabama and Pittsburgh, and returned home to become Everton's first-choice goalkeeper for over a decade, from 2003 to 2014.
For England, she won more than 80 caps, serving as first-choice goalkeeper at the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup and UEFA Women's Euro 2009, and was later selected for the Great Britain squad at the 2012 London Olympics – a moment she described as the pinnacle of her career. Since retiring, she has become a familiar voice as a football pundit for the BBC and BT Sport, helping bring the women's game to new audiences.
Whether you followed her through Everton's cup runs or her years marshalling England's back line, this tee is a way to represent a goalkeeper who helped build the foundations the modern Lionesses now stand on.
