Steve Ogrizovic Football Hoodie | Players Couture

Steve Ogrizovic made 601 appearances for Coventry City between 1984 and 2000 — a loyalty record at the club that has never been approached in the modern era. The goalkeeper arrived from Shrewsbury Town and spent sixteen seasons as the club's first choice, becoming one of the most dependable and recognisable figures in Coventry's history during a period that included their greatest ever achievement: the 1987 FA Cup final victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Ogrizovic's contribution to that FA Cup run, and to the consistent if unspectacular performances that kept Coventry competitive in the First Division throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, earned him a loyalty from City supporters that the longevity of his service entirely justified. Goalkeepers of his era were rarely the flashiest members of their teams — what they provided was reliability, and Ogrizovic provided it consistently for sixteen years. The Sky Blues have had few more important players in their history.
