Thiago Alcantara Liverpool Hoodie | Players Couture

Thiago Alcântara joined Liverpool from Bayern Munich in September 2020 as one of the most technically gifted midfielders to have played in the Premier League. The Spanish international's ability to control the tempo of a match, to receive under the most intense pressing and use the ball with a precision that made opponents look disorganised, gave Liverpool a different dimension in central midfield — one that the club had not had before and which supporters immediately recognised as something rare.

Thiago's Liverpool career was interrupted repeatedly by injuries that limited his contributions to the sustained run of matches that would have fully demonstrated his quality. The periods when he was fit and starting, however, showed a midfielder who operated at a level of technical precision that made the game around him look slower — the clearest sign of genuine class in any footballer. His departure from the club in 2023 was tinged with the sense that the full version of what Thiago at Liverpool could have been was never quite seen, but what was seen was exceptional.
