About Duhan van der Merwe:
Born on June 4, 1995, in George, South Africa, Duhan van der Merwe began his rugby journey at Outeniqua High School. He showcased exceptional talent early on, representing South Africa U20 in the 2014 Junior World Championship. In 2017, he joined Edinburgh Rugby, quickly becoming a standout player. Qualifying to represent Scotland through residency, van der Merwe made his international debut in October 2020, scoring a try against Georgia. His impactful performances include a memorable try that secured Scotland's first victory over England at Twickenham since 1983 during the 2021 Six Nations. In 2021, he was the tournament's top try-scorer and earned a spot on the British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa. As of March 2025, he holds the record for the most tries scored for Scotland, with 30 tries in 46 appearances.
