The Devil of Hell's Kitchen is still swinging. Daredevil: Born Again wrapped its second season on Disney+ in May 2026, Marvel renewed it for a third season back in September 2025, and filming on season 3 got under way earlier this year, with Mike Colter's Luke Cage and Finn Jones's Iron Fist joining the cast.
It is a remarkable run for a show that began on Netflix in 2015, was cancelled in 2018 and came back with Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio still leading the way. Netflix Beginnings
Daredevil premiered on 10 April 2015 as the first of Marvel's Netflix series. Charlie Cox played Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer whose other heightened senses make him a formidable vigilante, opposite Vincent D'Onofrio's chilling Wilson Fisk. Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple rounded out a grounded, street-level cast, and the show paved the way for Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Defenders.

Behind the Scenes
The show's signature became its corridor fights. Season 1's "Cut Man" and season 3's "Blindsided" feature genuine one-take brawls, while season 2's stairwell fight in "New York's Finest" was cleverly stitched together from several takes. Season 2 also introduced Jon Bernthal's Punisher and Élodie Yung's Elektra, and season 3 brought in Wilson Bethel as Dex, the future Bullseye. Netflix cancelled the series in November 2018, after three seasons.

Born Again on Disney+
Daredevil: Born Again premiered on 4 March 2025, with Cox and D'Onofrio returning and Fisk now Mayor of New York. Season 2 followed on 24 March 2026 and ran for eight episodes, adding Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones, Matthew Lillard and Lili Taylor. Critics widely saw it as a step up from season 1, and The Punisher: One Last Kill special landed on Disney+ a week after the finale.
Awards
Daredevil (Netflix)
- Several Primetime Creative Arts Emmy nominations, including main title design, sound editing and visual effects
- Saturn Award for Best Streaming Superhero Series (2019)
Daredevil: Born Again
- Strong reviews for both seasons, with season 2 scoring 86% on Rotten Tomatoes
Legacy
Daredevil proved that a superhero show could feel like a gritty crime drama, and fans kept the flame alive long after the cancellation. Seeing Cox, D'Onofrio, Woll, Henson and Bernthal back together on Disney+ has made it one of the great comeback stories in modern television.
