Monday nights in autumn mean one thing for many NFL fans: the ManningCast. Season six kicked off on 14 September 2026, with Peyton and Eli Manning once again turning Monday Night Football into the most entertaining sofa in America through Peyton's company, Omaha Productions.
Before the broadcasting, there was the 'Omaha!' at the line of scrimmage, five MVP awards and two Super Bowl rings. Here is the story of the quarterback they called The Sheriff – and for more gridiron gear, head to our American football collection.

A Football Family
Peyton is the son of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning and the older brother of two-time Super Bowl winner Eli. At Isidore Newman School in New Orleans he was the 1993 Gatorade National Player of the Year.
He chose Tennessee, where he threw for 11,201 yards, won 39 games as a starter and finished runner-up for the 1997 Heisman Trophy. The Colts made him the first pick of the 1998 draft.

Indianapolis and the Ring
Manning turned the Colts into perennial contenders, winning MVP awards in 2003, 2004, 2008 and 2009. His defining night in Indianapolis came in the AFC Championship game of the 2006 season, when the Colts came back from 21-3 down to beat the Patriots 38-34.
Two weeks later he beat the Chicago Bears 29-17 in Super Bowl XLI and was named Super Bowl MVP.

Comeback in Denver
Neck surgery cost him the whole of 2011, and the Colts released him in March 2012. Many wondered if he was finished. Instead he signed for Denver, won Comeback Player of the Year and then produced the greatest passing season ever in 2013: 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns, both NFL records, plus a fifth MVP.

Super Bowl 50 and Goodbye
His final game was a fitting one. On 7 February 2016 the Broncos beat the Carolina Panthers 24-10 in Super Bowl 50, giving Manning a second ring. He retired a month later and entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a first-ballot pick in 2021.
