David Seaman is the greatest English goalkeeper of his era and one of the finest the country has ever produced. Commanding, reliable, technically excellent and capable of the extraordinary when the match demanded it, he was the backbone of one of Arsenal's greatest teams and the last line of defence for England across thirteen years of international football. This Seaman hoodie from Players Couture is for fans who know exactly what he meant to Arsenal and England and want to wear that respect properly. Seaman was born in Rotherham in 1963 and came through the lower leagues at Peterborough and Birmingham City before moving to Queens Park Rangers. Arsenal paid £1.3 million for him in 1990 and over the following thirteen years he became one of the most decorated goalkeepers in the history of English football. He won two First Division and Premier League titles, three FA Cups, the League Cup, the Cup Winners' Cup and reached the final of the UEFA Cup. He was part of the Arsenal back four alongside Tony Adams, Steve Bould, Lee Dixon and Nigel Winterburn that became one of the most defensively formidable units the English game has seen.

For England, Seaman earned 75 caps across thirteen years of international service, from 1988 to 2002. He was first choice for England at Euro 96, one of the greatest international tournaments ever held on English soil, and delivered some of his finest performances as England reached the semi-finals. His shootout saves against Scotland and Spain were pivotal in that run. He saved a Paul Ince penalty against Germany in the semi-final shootout, though England ultimately went out. He played in two World Cups and represented his country with the same consistency and quality that defined his entire career.

His most famous individual moment came in the 2003 FA Cup semi-final when Ronaldinho's free kick looped over his head from 40 yards in Barcelona's win over Arsenal. It was a freak goal that ended Arsenal's Champions League dream, and Seaman retired from football not long after. He is remembered as a giant of the position, a reassuring presence between the posts and a player who made difficult saves look routine. This hoodie carries his name in the Players Couture frame.
