Kevin Keegan Liverpool Number 7 T-Shirt
Some numbers identify a position. Number 7 identifies a personality. This Players Couture men’s T-shirt focuses on Liverpool’s famous red number 7 shirt from Kevin Keegan’s trophy-filled Anfield years. The left-chest composition is intentionally compact: a piece of football recognition rather than a loud replica shirt, created for supporters who know exactly what the number means.
Kevin Keegan: the number 7 who drove Shankly’s second great Liverpool side
Kevin Keegan arrived from Scunthorpe United in 1971 as a relatively unknown 20-year-old and left six years later as a European champion and one of the biggest names in the game. Bill Shankly initially considered him as a midfielder, but a devastating partnership with John Toshack quickly revealed where he belonged. Toshack’s aerial strength and Keegan’s movement, bravery and relentless energy became one of the great Anfield combinations.
Keegan made 323 appearances for Liverpool and scored exactly 100 goals. His honours list captures the scale of the journey: First Division titles in 1972/73, 1975/76 and 1976/77; UEFA Cups in 1973 and 1976; the 1974 FA Cup; and the club’s first European Cup in 1977. He scored twice and created the other goal across the two legs of the 1973 UEFA Cup final against Borussia Mönchengladbach. A year later, his two goals in the FA Cup final helped dismantle Newcastle United 3–0 at Wembley.
His farewell was as significant as his arrival. Having announced that 1976/77 would be his final Liverpool season, Keegan still produced 20 goals as the club retained the league championship. In the European Cup final in Rome he tormented Berti Vogts and won the penalty that sealed a 3–1 victory over Mönchengladbach. His last match in red ended with Liverpool lifting the trophy they had pursued for decades.
Keegan went on to win the Ballon d’Or twice while at Hamburg, captained England and later created another extraordinary football story at Newcastle. Following his death in July 2026, tributes from Anfield and across the game underlined the reach of his personality and achievements. Liverpool remembered a player who combined superstar quality with unmistakable effort—“Mighty Mouse” playing every contest as though it mattered personally.
This number 7 artwork centres on the Liverpool chapter: the red shirt, the Shankly and Paisley eras, the partnership with Toshack and the night in Rome. It is a respectful piece of fanwear for a player whose final touch in a Liverpool career was to leave the club as champions of Europe.
The artwork and its specific identity
This design is based on Liverpool’s famous red number 7 shirt from Kevin Keegan’s trophy-filled Anfield years. Its framed, poster-like treatment isolates the shirt as the central object, allowing colour and number to carry the recognition. It is a strong choice for long-term fans, collectors of football culture and anyone looking for a thoughtful Kevin Keegan gift that can be worn beyond matchday.
A premium everyday T-shirt, not a replica kit
The artwork is printed as a compact left-chest frame on a 180gsm, 100% cotton regular-fit T-shirt. It gives supporters a reference that feels deliberate and recognisable without turning the whole garment into a football shirt. Choose from White, French Navy, Bright Red, Black or Grey Marl in sizes S to 3XL.
Wear it with jeans and trainers on an ordinary day, under an overshirt for an away trip, or with shorts when watching the match in warmer weather. The restrained placement works in a pub, at a watch party, on holiday or around the city: football meaning for people who recognise it, clean streetwear for everyone else.
Made to order in Manchester
No finished stock is produced before an order is placed. Your chosen colour and size are printed to order in Manchester, reducing unnecessary printed inventory while allowing Players Couture to represent a much broader range of clubs, eras and supporter memories. UK delivery is free.
Wash inside out at 30°C, avoid tumble drying and do not iron directly over the print. Following these steps helps preserve the colour and definition of the artwork.
Created by supporters, with respect for the game
Players Couture is an independent fanwear label. This is an original artistic tribute, not official club merchandise and not intended to suggest endorsement by the player, club or governing body. The design is created in good faith under principles of artistic expression and fair use. If the relevant rights holder does not share that interpretation, we will respond constructively.
Our ambition is to collaborate directly with players, clubs and representatives wherever possible, with appropriate royalties or charitable contributions attached to sales. Until then, every piece is produced only after a supporter chooses it—one order, one memory and one carefully made garment at a time.
